Research Fellows from Any Countries
The following is a list of competitive research fellowship funding schemes particularly designed to support early career researchers in the UK and overseas to conduct independent research at a UK university. To apply you normally need to name a host academic, and Shujun will be interested in being the host (and a research collaborator). Contact me if you are interested in hearing more about these opportunities.

Royal Society Kohn International Fellowships - Israel
"The Society is offering an additional fellowship, thanks to the generous support of the Kohn Foundation, as part of a five-year exchange programme run in partnership with the Israel Academy of Sciences and Humanities. The award will be made in any field within the physical and natural sciences excluding clinical medicine.
It is not possible to apply directly for this private funding. Instead, successful candidates from Israel may be selected from the Newton International Fellowship applications. This private fellowship is for a continuous duration of two years, or may be held on a part-time basis for caring responsibilities. Fellows may also be eligible to receive up to £6,000 annually following the tenure of their Fellowship to support networking activities with UK-based researchers."

Research Fellows from Germany
-
Feodor Lynen Research Fellows: As a member of the Humboldt Network, Shujun is eligible to host Feodor Lynen Research Fellows funded by the Alexander von Humboldt-Stiftung/Foundation in Germany. Such fellows should be German researchers who wish to conduct a visiting research project at an overseas host like Shujun for 6-24 months as a post-doctoral researcher or 6-18 months as an experienced researcher. There is no deadline so you can apply at any time you like.
Other Research Fellowships
Funders in your own countries (the country where you live and the country/countries you have your nationality/nationalities) should also have various fellowship schemes to encourage (especially early career) researchers to develop their careers further (e.g.
German DAAD schemes, and
China Scholarship Council's funding schemes). You may also be eligible for some Commonwealth fellowship schemes, e.g.,
Commonwealth Rutherford Fellowships and
Commonwealth Academic Fellowships.
